The Great Outdoors seems increasing hard for young people to find these days. Developing a love for nature and respect for our environment takes time in the outdoors, and that is what we are here for.
THE VALUE OF SCOUTING
Discovery is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it’s a campout, derby car race, or hike on the trail, we believe every adventure helps us uncover a little more about ourselves. We build the foundations for humility and compassion—strengthening character through actions—to prepare youth for a lifetime of leadership. For over 100 years, scouting has helped create generations of leaders and outstanding citizens by allowing boys and girls to explore their interests, serve their communities, and discover their talents through youth-led activities like hiking, camping, and volunteering!
The Lakeview Urbandale Kiwanis Club supports this vision completely and works hard to provide these growth opportunities. We host any and all youth groups looking for a place to camp, explore, learn, and just have fun in the outdoors.
In return numerous Eagle Scout projects have improved the site over the years. Below are just a few:

In addition we have hosted several scouting group activities such as the BSA Jamboree in 2017, and others.
We welcome all youth groups to visit us as often as they can. Leaders can contact the Outdoor Center Director at 269-274-8943 with any questions or to make a reservation. We will ask you to register for each visit by filling in and returning our Registration Form so we know what to expect and can be fully prepared for when you arrive. We also ask the you complete a Survey at the end of your visit to help us capture suggestions for improvement. We keep records of visitors to assist in fund raising and various marketing efforts.
